Bluemantle is an elegant serif typeface rooted in the storied history of Savannah, Georgia. James Oglethorpe commissioned engraver John Pine to realize his vision for the colony of Georgia in the mid-1700s. Bluemantle is based on the lettering John Pine used in his engravings. The proportions of the letterforms are based on the rational grid Oglethorpe used in his plan for Savannah. Eventually, this typeface will be expanded to include upper and lowercase as well as blackletter and formal script variants.
